Golden Jubilee Celebrations of Dept.of Political Science, Kerala University 2006-07

Department of Political Science of Kerala University chalked out different academic programmes during 2006-07 as a part of its golden jubilee celebrations. The formal inauguration was done by Mr. M.A. Baby, Minister for Education, on 19th September 2006 at 2 Pm at the Seminar Hall of the Department of Political Science, Kariavattom. Among different activities, a monthly lecture series by eminent scholars from India and abroad on Kerala politics, Indian politics and global politics would be the highlight of the programme. Similarly, the Department is also organizing national seminars, workshops and symposia on important issues. The progress of decentralization in India and the problems of globalization are the focus of attention in these programmes. Moreover, the Department decided to conduct a two-day exhibition on different dimensions of Kerala politics at Thiruvananthapuram. A workshop will be conducted for the benefit of political elites who are part of decentralization process. Finally, the Department decided to launch a new bi-annual academic journal to strengthen the discipline.
