Department of Political Science Golden Jubilee Celebrations September 18, 2006 to September 18, 2007.
The golden jubilee programme was inaugurated by Mr.M.A.Baby, Minister for Education on 19th September 2006 at the seminar hall of the Department of Political Science.
Following activities are to be conducted during this period.
1. Lecture Series on contemporary areas related to Kerala politics, state and society in India and international politics. There will be at least two talks per month.
2. In association with Nehru Study Centre in the Department eminent scholars will be invited for special lecture .
3. It is proposed to conduct to national seminars, one under the auspices of the Chair for Parliamentary Studies, and another under V.K.Krishna Menon Study Centre.
4. National Symposium on “New Trends in Indian Politics”. Areas identified here are Decentralisation and Federalism, Globalisation and Indian Democracy, Party System and Coalition Governments etc.
5.To organize a seven workshop on “Impact of IT on research in social sciences” by using the facility and resources of Survey Research Centre.
6 To conduct an Exhibition on Kerala politics for the benefit of the public at VJT hall, Thiruvananthapuram.
7. Adoption of a village to study socio-economic and environmental development.
8. To organize symposiums and seminars in various colleges in Kerala.
9. Publications from the faculty members (Books and Articles in Academic Journals) and introduction of new research journal (bi-annual)
10. Valedictory session on 18th September 2007.
